Congratulations to AmFam Insurance - Adsit Agency Student-Athletes of the Week: Emma Spear & Luke Johns! Emma, a junior gymnast for the Lady Mavs, had a fantastic Conference Championship at Logansport last Saturday! Ms. Spear earned All-Conference honors for her 6th place finish in the All-Around competition. Emma is a 3-year letter winner in Gymnastics for the Mavs. Up next for Ms. Spear is Sectionals this Saturday (2.24) hosted at Lafayette Jeff at 9 AM. The top 6 finishers in each event and the all-around competition punch their ticket to the Valpo Regional! Emma is also a great "all-around" student, as she carries a near-perfect 3.97 cumulative GPA! Awesome work in the gym and in school, Emma! Luke, a senior diver for the Mavs, earned a trip to the IHSAA Diving Regionals after he placed 4th in the highly competitive Lafayette Jeff Sectional! Mr. Johns is a two-year letter winner in Diving. Luke is also a great partner for our Unified athletes, earning letters in Unified Flag Football and Unified Track & Field! Luke will compete in the Homestead Regional this Tuesday (2.20) at 6 PM. The top 8 finishers from Regionals earn a trip to the State Finals. Luke is also good at scoring points in the classroom where the senior carries a lofty 3.63 cumulative GPA! Fantastic work on the diving board and in the classroom, Luke!
