This morning the boys golf team participated in IHSAA Sectional #11 at Battle Ground GC and came away with a season low score of 305, while placing one stroke behind Harrison for 2nd place. A very humid round of golf this morning. The Mavs were paired with Lafayette Central Catholic and Harrison for the 18 hole event. The Mavs were lead by sophomore Phillip Ferger (72) which won the medalist for the lowest round of the day! Sophomore Matthew Oakley followed with a very solid round of 3 over 75 for the Mavs. Junior Seth Bower and sophomore Aaron Frank stayed focused after a frustrating front 9 holes and both walked away a 36 and 37 on the back for 79s. Junior Jackson Wise played the exact round we hoped from from the 5th spot and carded an 80. He missed a par putt on 18 and was so close to be at 79 as well. For the first time in 10 years, the McCutcheon Mavericks advanced as a team out of the sectional round and into the Regional round. The regional round is on Friday morning at 9am at Coyote Crossing GC.
