The Mavs (5-7) scored six two-out runs to claim victory Saturday afternoon over Western. The scoring started in the top of the third when Jonathan Riley crushed a three run homer to centerfield to give the Mavs a 3-1 lead. The Mavs would add single runs in the fourth and fifth on RBI singles by Jake Winger and Sammy Swank. Riley would strike again with a two-run homer to right in the top of the sixth to close out the scoring for the Mavs. Riley finished with three hits and five RBI on the day while scoring three runs. Mekyel Almond finished with two hits. Aiden Riser earned the win on the mound throwing six and two-thirds innings giving up two runs while striking out four without issuing a walk. The Mavs return to action on Monday as they travel to Loeb Stadium to take on the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos.
